I had a new home built from Lennar homes in Georgetown Texas. I put the first down payment in May and closed in December. I and was able to select many features and it will be great to move into a brand new home!
The countdown for my last day at work has begun and the anticipation and excitement is increasing daily.
Living in an apartment again is both strange and humbling. I had been in my last home for about 12 years. I have only opened enough boxes to live on and thus my packing for the upcoming move will be minimal. However, living out of boxes in not the best and it becomes irritation to not find things, but such is life. One gets spoiled in a house and to experience the joys of noisy neighbors and crying babies is interesting to say the least.
This move like many moves is bitter sweet. I shall miss my close friends and the good people I work with, however I am an adventurer by nature and the thought of a new life brings a great deal of anticipation and excitement for me.
The Toastmasters group from my current company took me out last week for a fun goodbye and we had a blast.
Several of the people at work wanted to take me out. I soon realized with all I had to do time would soon be at a premium. I have been out with some, and I figured the best way to see as many people (who are friends) as possible, was to put a get together for friends myself.
Thus, I put together a party within the next few days at a local restaurant. One thing led to another and now it looks like the party will be somewhere between 20-30 people. I look forward to it a great deal!
Friendships and family are two of my touchstones and relationships won’t end just because of a little move. I already have great friends and family in many parts of the country. Now, I will keep some wonderful friends here in Tucson, and make more in Texas!
