Last Wednesday February 18th I left a job of 19 years. In the evening I went to Maker house and spent time with my Tango friends from Tucson.
On Thursday afternoon we packed a 26 foot U-Haul truck with my stuff starting at 2:30 pm and finishing around 7:30 pm. Jim Baker, Rob Fuentes and three hired hands assisted in the task. Everyone did a great job!
Once packed, Jim drove the U-Haul and I drove my car on the first leg of the Journey. We made it to El Paso Texas near 12 am. We stayed at a Motel 6 that evening. We had driven a bit over 300 miles.
On Friday morning we were on the road again by 8am. It took about 9.5 hours to make it to my new home in Georgetown. Jim and I unpacked for around 1.5 hours and then went out to a local Milonga to meet the Tango community here in the Austin Area.
Saturday Jim and I finished unpacking the 26 foot U-haul with some help from two more hired hands. We were done unpacking the truck by 11:30am. My new refrigerator came in and we had a electrician come in to fix the GFI. It was soon up and running. It was then off to some of the stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, Costco Office Max etc. to start organizing and prepping my new home. Also, I set up my office and did a bit of unpacking.
Sunday was somewhat similar. We returned the U-Haul to a local place, and then made trips to stores again. We then had a good lunch. I dropped Jim at the airport to head back to Tucson in the afternoon. I unpacked more and met my friend Craig for Dinner and then went to the movie Interstellar.
Today I unpacked most of the day and am getting my internet hooked back up again. It feels great!
More to come!
